    Description

Think Scrabble® meets logic and youve got an idea for how this great family game works. Connect your tile to any of the twisting lines on the board and score points based on the point value of the tile you played, the place you played it and other neighboring tiles. This international sensation is new to the U.S. but a great new twist on an old favorite.

4Great board game especially if you can't spell  Aug 10, 2010
I love Scrabble but my husband can't spell. Read about this game and decided to take a chance on purchasing it. Not only is it fun, it's challenging. Finally found a board game he likes to play.

    5Fun, unique game  Jun 28, 2010
Really fun game! I don't know of any other game like it. I guess you might think of it like a visual Scrabble sort of, but it's much more fun and faster. My new favorite game.

    5Very fun and creative  May 01, 2010
The basic idea of Loopit is similar to Scrabble only instead forming words, your forming a giant continuous line. In the end, the board will look a bizarre maze with no specific starting point or ending point. Each tile has a line extending off at least two of its sides, and is worth between 1-8 points. On each turn, you play 1-3 tiles from your tray on spaces on the board that connect to the line(s) adjacent to your tile. After each turn, you draw tiles from a fancy blue bag so that there are always 5 tiles on your tray. There are a wide variety of designs for the lines on the tiles, giving them different and unique looks. Some have loops, some have right angles, and some are mostly straight (there are only four tiles though that are worth 8 points, and each one has a very specific design). Like Scrabble, there are many bonus spaces scattered throughout the board that can multiply your score if you play on them. In this game, they can multiply your score by as little as 2 or as much as 6. The game ends after all the tiles have been drawn out of the bag and either all of them have been played or no one is able to play their remaining tiles. At that point, the player with the highest score wins.

Overall, Loopit is a very fun and unpredictable game with lots of twists and turns (no pun intended). The quality of the materials that make up this game are top notch. It's easy to understand, it requires a lot of strategy, and, like Scrabble, it also requires a bit of luck. It really keeps your mind busy the entire game as you try figuring out the best place to play your tiles and where your opponents might play. I actually enjoy it more than Scrabble. Loopit does borrow a few basic ideas from that game, but the gameplay is completely different. It's really creative and unique in its own respect (more so than Scrabble), and it's a great strategy game that anyone can enjoy.

    5Way better than scrabble!  Feb 09, 2010
This game still had the fun point system of scrabble, but with a twist...literally you pieces twist and turn and you have to connect the tiles to get the points. I really enjoyed playing this game with my friends and prefer it to scrabble, because like most people I just end up debating through the whole game on whether the words people have chosen are real. I suggest this game to everyone I know.

I bought this game for some adult friends based on favorable reviews in our local newspaper. It's a good game, not great. It's easy to play - not a lot of time needed to read the rules, not a lot of set up time. I'll estimate kids as young as 8 could play. It's like Scrabble with lines instead of letters. The board is laid out similar to a Scrabble board. Each tile has a point value. The point values appear to be random- no relation to the difficulty of playing a tile. The player who goes first seems to have an advantage; in the games we've played the first player won or almost won all the games.
Overall, I'll give Loopit a mild recommendation.
